Even as the light goes down, the numerous nightclubs, pubs and bars around the square add more cheer and charisma to your stay at San Francisco.

Palace Hotel, San Francisco

Situated in the Financial District in the city's downtown, the Palace Hotel, San Francisco is a vintage premium hotel that boasts centuries-old regal architecture with a modern dećor hue.

This luxurious landmark is conveniently located near Union Square and Chinatown.

I was able to enjoy classic American steaks and grills at Grove-Yerba Buena restaurant, which was within walking distance of the hotel.

I loved The Bourbon and Branch Bar near the hotel which is an eccentric bar and with a unique atmosphere, serving personalized cocktails and spirits.

Shops such as Barney's and Bloomingdale were also easy to access.

The ideal location of the hotel makes this one of the best 5- star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco. 

The hotel's restaurant and bar, elegantly located under the stained-glass roof are one of my favourite aspects of the hotel.

The massive indoor pool under the glass dome was bright and beautiful. The gym was spacious and well-equipped.

My bedroom had a comfortable large bed and a sofa bed in the living area.

The suite was refined with additional amenities such as television and a minifridge.

The marble bathroom was gorgeous and had sufficient toiletries and a hairdryer.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel is pet friendly and but wifi was not free. 

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

This high-rise luxury haven, located in the city's Financial District is unarguably one of the most premium 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco. 

The 48-storey hotel offers unparalleled views of the urban landscape just 5 minutes away from Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and the Embarcadero.

San Francisco's most scenic attraction by the bay area, The Embarcadero had some amazing restaurants such as the Waterfront Restaurant which I savoured the most.

With a perfect view of the Ferry Building and Bay Bridge, the seafood served is delicious and full of flavour.

The food served at the hotel's restaurant was rather mediocre, but the service was fast and efficient.

The transparent glass-walled sky bridge, which connects the two towers of the hotel laid out a panoramic view of the city horizon was my personal favourite feature of the hotel.

My bedroom had a large and cosy bed, a sofa next to the window overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and a dining table for two.

The minimalist and modern dećor of the room was simple and stylish.

The marble vanity bathroom with the backlit mirror was very aesthetic and lovely.

The room service is highly commendable and impressive.

The staff and concierge were extremely helpful and made my stay as comfortable as possible. Pets are allowed after making a prior request and wifi was fast and free of charge.

Ritz Carlton, San Francisco

Ritz Carlton Hotel is known for its hospitality and quality service to its guests.

Located in downtown Financial District, the hotel is reasonably close to Union Square and Chinatown.

San Francisco's shopping central the Union Square also has one of the best dining options in the neighbourhood, such as the Leatherneck Steakhouse and the Golden Gate Taproom.

 I took the cable car stop conveniently located outside the hotel's front door to roam about the city, happily greeted by the locals.

The chic and classy Club Lounge in the hotel offered specially curated cocktails and drinks.

The on-site restaurant, designed to overlook the city skyline was delightful.

The exquisite wine tasting lounge was yet another remarkable aspect of the hotel, making it one of the most sought after 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco. 

My room was well lit with a blue hue and had a separate sitting area.

The bedroom was elegantly furnished and the bathroom was spacious with toiletries and plush robes.

The lighted mirror in the bathroom adds a modern touch to the marble bath. The staff was well-behaved and very helpful.

The free wifi was fast and efficient but the gym badly needs an upgrade.

St Regis San Francisco

St Regis San Francisco located in the downtown SoMa District is the perfect hotel for art lovers and connoisseurs.

This 20th-century luxury hotel is at the heart of the city's cultural hub. Several prolific museums and art galleries are just minutes away from the hotel.

The Museum of the African Diaspora located within the hotel premises documents the history and culture of Africa.

This artfully established landmark hotel is next door to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) showcasing contemporary and modern artworks, sculptures and photographs.

The hotel presents its own collection of art, with several aesthetically pleasing artistry.

Union Square and Financial District are only a short drive away from the hotel.

I easily explored the neighbourhood with the assistance of the complimentary luxury car service which is available through a first-come-first-serve policy.

My bedroom had a large single bed and a sofa near the floor to ceiling glass windows. The view of the urban landscape from the room was very pleasant.

The bathroom had a deep soaking tub, toiletries, robes and hairdryer.

The indoor heated swimming infinity swimming pool was one of the best features of the hotel which makes this one of the top 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco. 

The gym is also well-structured. The staff were incredibly cooperative.

The hotel is pet friendly however, wifi was not free.

The Westin

Directly located in Union Square, Westin Hotel provides a unique and unforgettable experience for its visitors making it one of the best 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco.

The proximity of the hotel to the Theatre District and Chinatown allowed me to freely visit the upscale shopping centres and restaurants.

 In the city's French Quarters, I particularly enjoyed Belden Place located in an alley around Union Square that serves elite European cuisines from Spain, France and Italy.

I was lucky enough to see the massive Christmas tree, illuminated in the centre of the square during my visit in December.

My room had a big bed and a study table.

The furnishings of the room were modest with different shades of blue, an abstract portrait and a chandelier.

 The bathroom was simple and efficient with a bathtub and a huge backlit mirror. The room had TV and minifridge but wifi was not free.

The staff were humble and helpful. The fitness centre was adequate and effective.

A major downfall of the hotel would be the exorbitant price of parking. 

JW Marriott San Francisco

JW Marriot San Francisco is situated in the heart of Union Square. Known for its high-end hospitality services, the hotel is one of the best 4-star hotels in San Francisco.

Ghirardelli Square, Financial District and Chinatown are major landmarks near the hotel.

As the hotel was located close to the beach, I enjoyed the ferry ride from Pier 39 to Alcatraz Island.

Ferry Building and Berkeley Marina were also easily accessible from the hotel.

Marriott is one of the best hotels in San Francisco Bay Area as classic attractions such as the Oracle Park, Exploratorium and other attractions by the seaside is very close to the hotel.

The hotel's restaurant, bar and the open-air terrace were tranquil and calming.

My bedroom was elegant and well-lit with two panoramic windows delivering a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The urban furnishings of the room gave it a chic and modern look.

The bathroom was spacious with a separate bathtub and shower.

The complimentary breakfast service was exceptionally good.

The fitness centre is open 24 hours a day and the hotel is smoking free.

The wifi, however, was not free. 

Hilton San Francisco

The Hilton Hotel offers an exceptional view of the ocean and Alcatraz Island and is ideally located in the Financial District, which makes it one of the top 5-star hotels in the San Francisco bay area.

The lively and vibrant streets of Union Square and Lombard Street were less than a mile from the hotel.

The hotel offers the perfect accommodations for business as well as personal trips.

Popular as one of the bext luxury hotels in San Francisco the hotel's restaurant also serves regional California cuisine and cocktails.

The karaoke room and outdoor space for events along with the exquisite lounge with floor-to-ceiling screens makes this one of the best 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco.

The bay view from the bedroom was pleasant and enjoyable.

The bathroom with dual sinks and bathtub was praiseworthy.

The room had amenities such as TV, mini-fridge, hairdryer and iron.

The gym was perfect with modern pieces of equipment.

The staff were friendly and outstanding, but the wifi was not free. 

Hotel Zeppelin

Chosen among the 15 best hotels in San Francisco, Hotel Zeppelin in Union Square is known for its rebellious and colorful architectural style.

The centrally located hotel is celebrated for its elegant hospitality.

The handy valet parking and complimentary cocktails upon my arrival were very pleasant. The Hotel Zeppelin is one of the best 4-star hotels in San Francisco.

The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants that offer different and unique cuisines from around the world.

The Mexican fast-food outlet, Tacorea was my favourite place to hang out near the hotel.

The authentic interior design of the lounge, with mixed splashes of colours, scattered across the restaurant exhibited an energetic and dynamic vibe.

The bedroom was small yet comfortable, with a homey bed and a study table next to the windows. The bright coloured retro painting added more colour to the room.

The bathroom was adequate with ample toiletries and amenities.

Other in-room facilities included TV, hairdryer, coffee-maker and dining services.

The staff were very helpful in assisting my needs and made my stay quite memorable.

Wifi was fast and free.

Hotel Nikko

Located on Mason Street and a few steps from Union Square and Pier 39, Hotel Nikko is a posh hotel that offers a quality living experience to its visitors.

Conveniently located at the heart of San Francisco, Hotel Nikko is one of the best 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco.

The American Conservatory Theatre, SHN Curran Centre and the Martin Lawrence Galleries in Union Square were within easy reach of the hotel.

I enjoyed visiting several other prolific theatres and art exhibits in Union Square and Lombard Street as they were only at walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel itself offers state-of-the-art recreational facilities such as the nightclub and the massive rooftop pool. I also found the steam room very beneficial.

The room was fully furnished with a classical touch.

The well-lit room had a golden hue to it, completed by a huge window overlooking the cityscape.

The bathroom was spacious and well-equipped.

The hotel is pet-friendly and had unique features especially for pet animals.

The fitness centre was exceptionally good.

The staff were attentive and carefully took care of all my needs. Wifi was free. 

Grand Hyatt San Francisco

Ideally located in Union Square, Grand Hyatt San Francisco is one of the best 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco.

 This sky-high luxury hotel is at the heart of the city's shopping and cultural hub.

The de Young Memorial Museum and The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is only a short drive from the hotel.

 Hailed as one of the most beautiful museums in the city, the Legion of Honor museum is a must-visit attraction near the hotel.

Other famous landmarks near the hotel include the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and the San Francisco Zoo.

The hotel's bar was laudable and was a pleasant way to wrap up my day. 

My room was hip and upscale, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering the best view of the bay.

The bathroom was also very gorgeous with marble vanity and bathtub.

The concierge and staff were very helpful in sharing their expertise about the neighbourhood. The fitness centre was well equipped. Wifi was free.

Taj Campton

Located at the prestigious Union Square, Taj Campton is an old yet elegant hotel that is regarded as one of the best 5-star hotels in Union Square, San Francisco. 

The very famous Yerba Bueno garden is only a short drive from the hotel, which is the perfect place for dining and simply relaxing.

Situated along Stockton Street, the hotel was decked with eateries and pubs open throughout the night, makes this one of the best hotels in San Francisco to enjoy the nightlife.

The Michelin star on-site restaurant at Taj Campton offers a rich and cultural mix of Indian and Californian cuisines.

The hotel bar and nightclub which serves curated cocktails, beers and spirits was yet another remarkable feature of the hotel.

The view of the illuminated city from the open-air terrace at night was spectacular.

My bedroom had a simple dećor and was wood furnished.

The view from my room was not great.

The bathroom was well-equipped with a deep soaking tub and a shower area.

The staff were genuine and helpful. Wifi was free.
